  • Foundation of the Shang Shung Institute Austria
  • Launching of the website of the Shang Shung Institute Austria>

2001

  • Begin of the 3 years training of Tibetan Massage Ku Nye with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang

2002

  • Start of the Ka-Ter Translation Project in responsibility of the SSI AT
  • Inauguration of the new location of the Institute in Austria by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu
  • Continuation of the training of Ku Nye

2003

  • 1st Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Finishing the training of Ku Nye
  • Public talks about Tibetan Medicine by Dr. Nida Chenagstang
  • Course on Bagchen with Michel Bricaire in Gschmaier
  • Publication of the newspaper of the Shang Shung institute: Phonya
  • Financial support and collaboration with the project “Archaeologic park in Khyung Lung Tibet”
  • Begin of the international tournaments on Bagchen

2004

  • 2nd Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Margarita, Venezuela
  • Public talk on “Dreams in relation to Tibetan Medicine” in Vienna by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang
  • Final round of the international Bagchen championship, played at Isla Margarita
  • Organization of a study tour to Bhutan with Dr. Andrea Loseris  

2005

  • 3rd Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Next publication of the newspaper of the Shang Shung institute: Phonya
  • Visit with Bruno Baumann, the Austrian Tibet-explorer, to Merigar for an interview with Chögyal Namkhai Norbu

2006

  • 4th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Taking over the responsibility of the translation project “Complete Works of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu”

2007

  • 5th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Fund-raising campaign for Ka-Ter: 30 prizes

2008

  • 6th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Initiating the new project “The Public Books Project”
  • 1st Day of the Open Door in Gschmaier
  • Publication of the newsletter of the Shang Shung Institute “Phonya
  • Organization and participation in the “Tibet-Day” in Hüttenberg, Austria
  • Renovation and moving to the first floor of the “Old School Building” in Gschmaier

2009

  • 7th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Organizing and participating in the “Tibetan Cultural days” in Bucharest, Romania.
  • Initiating the foundation of the new branch of the Shang Shung Institute in London.
  • Initiating the new initiative “Archive Transcription Program” that is done at the Shang Shung Institute in Italy.

2010

  • 8th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Production of short video-clips about the branches of the Shang Shung Institute
  • 2nd Day of the Open Door in Gschmaier

2011

  • 9th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Participation in the “Dzogchen Forum” in Moscow with a talk about the “Five Fields of Knowledge” as being applied at the Shang Shung Institute in London
  • Co-Organization of “Second Tibetan Cultural Week” in Tenerife
  • 1st Styrian-Tibetan Cultural Week

2012

  • 10th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Participation at the “Tibet Days” in Athens with an exhibition of some statues and photos of SSI Austria
  • Participation in the 1st meeting of the International Shang Shung Institute in Italy
  • Organization of the Drajyor weekend-curse with Fabian Sanders in Gschmaier

2013

  • 11th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Participation in the 2nd meeting of the International Shang Shung Institute in Italy

2014

  • 12th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Offering more levels for the Tibetan Language courses
  • Receiving funds from a bequest in Australia
  • New website for Shang Shung Institute Austria

2015

  • 13th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Begin of the translation work on the Dra Thalygur Tantra

2016

  • 14th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Offering more levels for the Tibetan Language courses also via Skype
  • Moving to the new location in Gersdorfberg

2017

  • 15th Ka-Ter Translation Training held in Merigar, Italy
  • Oliver Leick became the president of the Shang Shung Foundation
  • Organization of the 1st Khaita workshop at the SSI in Gersdorfberg
